The difference between these options is the way our customers like to use our technology.

We only service the software & its maintenance.
- IaaS
SaaS and the needed services, like encoding.
- PaaS
IaaS, plus storage & distribution capacity.
Infrastructure
The Calamares system separates infrastructure from functionality.
This way our customers are free to choose what parts of their solutions they develop on top of Calamares technology, and what parts they like to service themselves, or with other suppliers.
Users of Calamares are free to choose where to host what parts of their solution. To host the media files at one or at several different locations, to hire encoding capacity elsewhere and to leave the distribution to an existing Content Delivery Network (CDN), or to use internal media servers.
The way the content plays or downloads depends on the used distribution method. Calamares supports various ways, either protected or not:
- Streaming Media
- Progressive download
- FTP download
