Calamares is based on:

WCF provides a secure & robust interface between the different layers in the software architecture, the ability to develop the GUI in Silverlight and to be multi-touch enabled.
The Calamares GUI is available in two versions:
- Browserbased Silverlight Application
- Browserbased HTML Application

Web services are typically application programming interfaces (API) or web APIs that are accessed via Hypertext Transfer Protocol and executed on a remote system hosting the requested services. Web services tend to fall into one of two camps:
Calamares Webservices
For optimal accessibility and integration with existing systems, the Calamares system can be accessed using web services.
Together with our extended API you are able to take advantage of our powerful engine and manage the complete system from within your existing environment.
For accessing the web services both SOAP & REST based communication can be used.
